Parallel Process Option for Optimization in Background.

Hi,

 

I am testing the SNP Optimizer with various settings this week on  demo version from SAP for a client.  I am looking for information that anyone might have on the SNP Parallel Processing Option in the execution of the Optimizer in the background.   The information that I could find is very thin.   I would be interested in any documentation or experience that you have.

PPDS Optimizer - Can it constrain more than one capacity on an operation

Hello,

I have a question on the capabilities of the PPDS optimizer to constrain multiple resources on an operation. I am going to provide a scenario and two examples.  The difference between the two examples is the Scheduling Basis that you set on the Scheduling Tab of CR02.

Assume you have a workcenter set up in the following manner:

  • In ECC the workcenter has both a machine and labor pool capacity
  • Both of the capcities are marked as relevant to finite scheduling
  • The machine capacitty is avaiilable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Assume the labor pool is available only one 8 our shift a day and only on Monday and Tuesday

   

Example 1:

  • The scheduling basis is set to labor pool
  • Two order that requires 24 hours of capacity needs to be planned for same day thru the work center
  • After the MRP heuristic(infinite plan), the two orders are both planned with 8 hours on Mon, Tues and the following Monday. It is respecting the 8 hours of capacity available for the labor pool for each order, but the orders are overlapping because it is an infinite plan.  It is respecting the 8 hours becasue the scheduling basis is the labor pool. 
  • Run the Optimizer, The two orders will no longer overlap. One of them will Run after the first Order that is planned Mon, Tue,Mon.

 

Example 2

  • The scheduling basis is set to machine
  • Two order that requires 24 hours of capacity needs to be planned for same day thru the work center
  • After the MRP heuristic(infinite plan), the two orders are both planned with 24   hours on Mon. It is respecting the 24 hours of capacity available for the machine. The orders are overlapping, becasue is an infinite plan.  It is respecting the 24 hours on the machine becasue the schedling basis is machine. 
  • Run the Optimizer, The two orders will no longer overlap, thet will be planned with one on Monday and the other on Tuesday.

 

Questions:

  • Does what I describe make sense based on  the difference being the Scheduling Basis?
  • Is there anyway to make the capacity constrainst of the two capacities be repsected at the same time? Or do you have to pick one with the scheduling Basis?

Need a warning message in /sapapo/tl1 and /sapapo/tl3

Hello All,

 

We have a requirement to have a pop up message when a user executes the transaction /sapapo/tl1 and /sapapo/tl3. We frequently get issues where the user by mistake clicks "All Products" radio instead of "Mass Selection" inside the transaction.

 

We tried to look at greying the "All Products" radio button but was unable to find any solution. Has anybody done this before? If yes, can you share the solution?

 

Alternatively, if greying out the "All Products" radio button is not feasible, we would like a pop up message in the below two scenarios.

 

Scenario 1

 

Step1: Tcode /n/sapapo/tl1

Step2: Click on Create or Change button. This should result in a pop up message with a text “Pls do not click All Products radio button”

 

Scenario 2

Step1: Tcode /n/sapapo/tl3

Step2: Click on Change button. This should result in a pop up message with a text “Pls do not click All Products radio button”

 

Can anybody let us know if the above pop up messages are feasible and what is the solution for the same?

Selection of characteristic is not possible: not in InfoProvider

I am trying to load the planning area from the infocube and I am getting an error message that says, "Selection of characteristic  is not possible: not in InfoProvider." I have verified that all characteristics and key figures in the infocube match the characteristics and key figures in the planning area and Planning object structure. The grouping condition contains the correct characteristics and that characteristic assignments contain the correct characteristics as well. Can someone please tell me how to get pass this issue.

I saw question form Kelly W, about Season per Period, answer by James S.A., and I would like know that you could help me. In my case I have the next situation: I plan in weeks, but my historical data it is in days(now I have two years of historical) repeat each month, like I notice, then which numbers of periods can I use in this case?

Planned Order - Component Deletion

Hi Friends,

I have a requirement in which I need to delete component of planned order.

I found one FM that seems to be suitable for that, /SAPAPO/OM_ORDER_MODIFY, in documentation of this FM it is written as it can be used to delete component, but I am not getting how to do that.

 

In documentation it is written as, "From APO 4.1, you can use ORDER_MODIFY to delete existing I/O nodes as well. To enable this, a "delete record" must be created in the attribute table IT_INPUTS or IT_OUTPUTS, in which the key of the input node or output node is specified, along with the method gc_delete" . I am not getting "along with the method gc_delete". Where we need to set this flag. In which field of that FM?

 

Kindly suggest me, how can I achieve this.

Couldn't look the application log from CIF postprocessing (/SAPAPO/CPP)

Hi  ,

 

 

Our business uses CPP to park the error Transaction data records, later point of time, it will be checked and reprocesed (sent to R3/ APO),

 

When I click ' Display Application log  Icon &after selecting error record entry at CPP  , it will branch to R3 application log details screen. based the error details we take further action.

 

The same is not happing in our test system. When I choose ' Display application log Icon'  getting error message  that

" Transaction could not be executed in the remote system'  and Message no. /SAPAPO/CIF_ERRHDLG320

 

Could you please guide me , Is there any configeration missing or user authorisation issue?

How overlapping of BOM level production (this is not overlapping of operations) can be achieved using CTM PPDS planning

Hello Experts,

 

 

We would like to achieve below scenario through CTM PPDS planning.

 

 

Scenario:- While completing production of entire quantity of one level bom
next level bom  production should started.

 

 

At lower level BOM we need to produce 200 units, but before completing 200
units(suppose we have produce 100 units),
next upper level BOM production should get started.

 

 

Hence this is overlapping of BOM level production. This is not overlapping
of operations.

Report for importing capacity reservations RES01

Hi everbody,

 

we used the Import capacity reservations from SNP function offered in transaction RES01 and it worked fine,
However we are wondering whether there is a report that provides the same functionality, since we do not want to

perform the tedious task for each ressource.

DRP Run - PR

Hi

 

When I am running DRP in SAP APO SPP, PR is getting created for the demand. If I am updating the demand quantity, the existing PR gets deleted & a new PR is created for the updated demand quantity. But I want to update the quantity in the existing PR itself. Kindly let me know how it should be done.

 

I know this can be done in MRP by maintaining the planning mode setting in MRP screen.

SPP - BOD issue

hi

 

We are getting this error:

 

Prod. does not exist at any location in BOD, or is not assigned to vers.

Message no. /SAPAPO/BOD050

 

BOD  for product  is inconsistent

Message no. /SAPAPO/PUIA_MESS325

 

But we do have a valid BOD for this product.

 

Helpful if any SPP Masters give any finding to resolve this error.

We're currently having a problem running the transaction SAPAPO/SDP94 in our SCM system, I've attached screenshots of the error. Any advice on the error would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more information please let me know.

APO DP Attributes

   I would like to know how would attributes data will be populated....i have 2 attribute assigned to a Product which is the master data but now when i try to create CVC in MC62 i dont see the attributes fields there which i am infomed...so my question is how can the data for attributes gets populated..does it have to be loaded from History or is there any way to load it manually...another question is when the history is brought from ECC to APO BW cube then when you create CVC combination based on the history in the cube how does the system knows which data will get populated in attribute field...does the sales history data has to match the CVC template..

How to lock historical data from changing in Data view

Hi APO Experts,

I am new to the advance macro world in APO and need Expert guidance with the following scenario:

 

There is historical data in our key figures that we need to make sure the values do not change when we run the process chains. I would think that this could be achieve by changing the data view and removing the input date tick mark but it did not work.

 

I have created a macro to see if this will work and would appreciate if the logic and functionality is correct

 

New Step user defined periods to be from P2/2011 to P12/2012 with processing direction in the past

 

ROW: KF attribute:

ROW_INPUT( 0 ).

 

I would assume that this would make those periods non-editable. Note that I need to be able to do this as well when running a process chain thus I will greatly appreciate the advice and guidance.

Finished product 20000456 keeps moving on my planning board

Hi SAP Gurus,

 

We are using sap snp and ppds,20000456 finish good won't stay on the schedule, keeps moving out within the frozen period. Its starting to cause confusion when it bumps off the schedule.kindly suggest me valuble message.

Deployment split creates orders in decimals- 0.001

For some skus deployment split program creates orders in decimals-0.001 & so also TLB PO.

Rounding value is correct.Master data seems correct.
